This charming scene reproduces a painting by Marie-François Firmin-Girard from 1872. The protagonist is a flower seller of the Belle Époque with her cart overflowing with colorful bouquets on the Pont Royal, one of the most prestigious and oldest bridges in Paris.
The work was auctioned in 2004 in New York and sold by Christie's to an anonymous collector for the considerable sum of $243,750.
