The Fairy Lilac is a character created in 1890 by the French choreographer Marius Petipa for Tchaikovsky's famous ballet "The Sleeping Beauty."
Also known as the "Good Fairy," she is the one who intervenes with her powers to combat the terrible curse cast on Princess Aurora by the evil witch Carabosse. Instead of dying, Aurora will fall into an enchanted sleep that only the kiss of Prince Desiré can finally break.
