However, the phenomenon of a green sky is not so unusual on our planet. It's called "airglow" and is caused by specific photochemical conditions in the Earth's upper atmosphere. This nocturnal luminescence creates magnificent green glows (sometimes also blue and red) that ripple across the dark sky: the latest sighting was documented on June 22, 2023, in Colorado.
