Tunnel of Light
Tunnel of Light
The title of this work was inspired by the story of an NDE (Near Death Experience) that a friend of ours experienced years ago. This is her story:
"I was 23 years old and about to give birth to my first child via cesarean section. Unfortunately, complications arose that forced the medical staff to accelerate the procedures as much as possible. In the rush, I was given an excessive dose of anesthesia, and I clearly felt myself detaching from my body, levitating toward the ceiling. Although I remained in a supine position, I could see what was happening below me: doctors and nurses frantically trying to save me, the call to the chief physician to inform him of the situation, his arrival as he yelled, 'These things should not happen!' I saw everything that was happening in that room, even the contents of the closed drawers.
As the medical team tried to revive me, I continued to levitate, passing through the roof and walls as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Once outside, I saw a dimly lit tunnel with very soft colors and a brilliant light at an indeterminate distance at the end. I felt I had to move in that direction, but I was very frightened until I sensed a presence. I couldn't see it, but it was there with me and it embraced me. We remained silent, not saying a word, but we communicated and understood each other perfectly. The presence gently said to me, 'Do not be afraid, this is the embrace you love so much and have always missed.' As I continued my journey through the tunnel, I sensed other presences, all extremely positive, and the colors grew warmer and more beautiful as I approached the source of light. I also saw my life again — as if in a movie — and my mistakes, including those made unknowingly. At a certain point, I asked, 'What about my baby?' The response was, 'He is with you and you will soon embrace him. Look at how he will be at two years old.' As foretold, my son appeared, beautiful, with blonde curly hair at the age of two. He was wearing blue shorts, a yellow sweater, and a pair of gray shoes. When he actually turned two, I took a photo of him dressed exactly as I had seen him while I was in the tunnel.
Suddenly, I no longer felt the embrace, and a voice said to me, 'You must return.' At that point, I pulled away and remember nothing more. When I opened my eyes, I didn't know how much time had passed. It had seemed like a moment to me, but in reality, two days had elapsed."
